About
Black Hawk County NOW is a satellite of the National Organization for Women, which serves Black Hawk County, Iowa. Our chapter started in 2019 with the goal of creating a community here in the Cedar Valley to support, advocate for, and improve the lives of women.

In addition to bringing the Women's March movement to Black Hawk County, we work with other local organizations to fight for access to healthcare, services, and other needs to make a tangible difference in the lives of women. We are committed to racial justice and the advancement of LGBTQ+ rights.
We are a community dedicated to social justice.
Grassroots Activism
As the grassroots arm of the women’s movement, the National Organization for Women is dedicated to its multi-issue and multi-strategy approach to women’s rights, and is the largest organization of feminist grassroots activists in the United States.
Our History
Since our founding in 1966, NOW’s purpose is to take action through intersectional grassroots activism to promote feminist ideals, lead societal change, eliminate discrimination, and achieve and protect the equal rights of all women and girls in all aspects of social, political, and economic life.
